US Cellular intros customised Amazon Appstore menu

AndroidGuys reports.

The menu is essentially a portal to apps and games that have been curated by US Cellular and will encompass a number of categories.

The Amazon Appstore is one of multiple Android apps that US Cellular preloads onto devices and can be regularly found with others such as Kindle for Android, Amazon Mobile, IMDb Movies & TV, Audible for Android, Zappos and Amazon MP3. The new list of apps will be updated on a regular basis and can be found on most of the carrier's Android line-up.

When US Cellular customers open the Amazon Appstore on most Android-powered devices, they will see a new US Cellular tab, which suggests apps that are pre-selected and approved by US Cellular, Bloomberg says.

The new US Cellular app menu gives those Android users easy access to many applications across a variety of categories, such as games, business tools and social media, with additional apps being added on a regular basis.

"The US Cellular menu in the Amazon Appstore is a great way for our customers to discover new apps that are practical and fun," says Edward Perez, VP of marketing and sales operations at US Cellular. "We're thrilled to build upon our existing relationship with Amazon to offer this convenience to our customers so they can get what they want, when they need it."
