Trend Micro posts government sector growth of 300% year-to-year for 1999 to 2000
Johannesburg, 26 Mar 2001

SecureData, and ERP.com company and the exclusive African distributors of Trend Micro, a leading provider of enterprise anti-virus and content solutions, today announced that Trend Micro has seen significant growth in the government sector which the company attributes to the strength of its network anti-virus products and world-class support.

Government sector sales revenue grew by approximately 300% year-to-year for the government fiscal year of 1999 to 2000. Trend Micro's products have been adopted by numerous U.S. Government Agencies including Air Logistic Command, Census Bureau, Dept. of Commerce, DOE, FDIC, Joint Chiefs of Staff, Justice Department, Naval Surface Warfare, Naval War College, Patent and Trademark Office, Social Security Administration, State Department, USDA NFC, and various intelligence agencies.

When asked to explain Trend Micro's success in the government sector, Robert J. Deitz II, president and CEO of the government reseller Government Technology Solutions (gTech) commented, "In my 20+ years in the computer industry, I have seen very few companies actually go out and listen to the very real needs of the unique government market. Trend Micro is one of those companies, and its growth over the last 3+ years in this market exemplifies this."

Government Agencies are often huge organizations with multiple offices located throughout the nation and in many cases, across the world. They require industrial-strength virus protection, centralized management, unified support, and consistent information from their anti-virus supplier. Trend Micro's award-winning, centrally managed products and Premium Support Services provide both small and large-scale government organizations with the tools they need to mount a successful defense against today's fast-spreading computer viruses.
