VARs choose Red Hat

Value-added resellers (VARs) that responded to a recent Channel Insider poll chose Red Hat Enterprise Linux as the best server operating system, says IT Business Edge.

Poll participants ranked products in categories including product familiarity, after-market sales opportunities and potential for profit, among other things.

Sun Microsystems' Solaris 10 and Novell's SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 took second and third places, respectively.

Xforce Alliance programme is for VAR system integrators and distributors.

The programme aims to increase reseller margins and sales, is educative and offers tools to capitalise on fast-growing markets.
