VELOCIT-e, the systems integration, gaming and verification specialist, has announced the launch of the Xn 500, the world`s first integrated, interactive dual touch screen ePOS system which provides all the benefits of point of sale (POS) flexibility, as well as marketing and multimedia capabilities.
The Xn 500 can also run any programme in a Microsoft or Windows-complaint environment on a customer-facing screen. "This product," said VELOCIT- director, Dennis Meyer, "is a new breed of equipment which will revolutionise the way companies think about customer service, as well as significantly enhancing their ability to maximise business and revenue opportunities."

Terminals can be used in a plethora of ways to provide information on a company and its products, or as an entertainment vehicle to induce customer surveys using enhanced levels of customer interaction at the selling point, or by selling `space` to allied suppliers and non-competitors.
"As a customer is paying for a bill at a check out point, for instance," explained Meyer, "one of the screens is turned towards him. This screen can tempt the customer with special offers, can advertise new products, or whatever the store owner has in mind.
Advertising space on this in-your-face, customer-facing screen can also be sold to third parties. This," he said, "adds a new dimension to marketing and advertising. The customer is bound to see the advert while he is waiting to pay for his goods. It is an opportunity to boost revenues and increase branding."
Regarded as the most sophisticated PC-based POS technology available in the world today, the Xn 500 is suitable for convenience stores, retail and grocery stores, restaurants, hotels, information kiosks, and banking terminals at the point of sale.
