Venture Computer, the sole distributor in Southern Africa for Lexmark International, today announced the appointment of Gestetner South Africa as a strategic partner for the Lexmark range of products with effect from 1st April 1999.
This agreement, which is mirrored in many other places across the world, co-brands Lexmark printers for sale and rental through both the direct and indirect sales channels operated by Gestetner South Africa, and complements their other directly branded products such as photocopiers and facsimile machines which have network connectivity.
Gestetner South Africa operates via 70 direct sales staff and through 25 dealers nation-wide, and will be holding stock of printers as well as their consumables. Initially, the servicing will be undertaken directly by Venture Computer; however it is intended that Gestetner will provide these services in due course. Gestetner will also equip demonstration facilities at their regional offices in Gauteng, Cape Town and Durban.
