Veritas Software Corporation has announced the availability of its pioneering disaster recovery solution for Novell`s NetWare 5 operating system along with its "Yes, Tested and Approved" compatibility approval from Novell.
Intelligent Disaster Recovery now supports the fully automated recovery of NetWare 5 servers with non-Novell Storage Services (NSS) volumes. In addition to both local and remote support for NetWare 5, Backup Exec for NetWare Intelligent Disaster Recovery Option also recovers NetWare 3 and 4, including IntraNetware servers.

Veritas` new disaster recovery option can recover not only the server and all its traditional NetWare file system partitions and namespaces, but also recreate the DOS boot partition and automatically re-integrate the server back into the Novell Directory Services (NDS) environment. "This level of intelligent disaster recovery enables mission-critical servers to be back on line promptly, without requiring the user to know NetWare, NDS, bindery, or DOS," says van Noordwyk.
