VERITAS Software announces complete support for Microsoft Small Business Server 2000

VERITAS Software , the data availability company, has introduced version 8.5 of VERITAS Backup Exec for Windows NT and Windows 2000, Small Business Server Edition.

Designed specifically for small business owners and larger businesses deploying remote networks with departmental servers, VERITAS Backup Exec Small Business Server Edition is a full-featured data protection suite with agents and options optimised for small business server and workgroup environments.

Version 8.5 of VERITAS Backup Exec Small Business Sever Edition delivers integrated backup, restore, disaster recovery, virus cleaning, and includes single drive autoloader/library support in one suite to protect the new Microsoft Small Business Server 2000 and previous releases. This value-oriented solution offers complete, automated data protection for Small Business Servers.

Included application agents provide online backup and restore of critical Microsoft Exchange 2000 Servers, including granular protection of individual messages or mailboxes, and Microsoft SQL Server 2000 protection down to the table space/filegroup level. An additional integrated feature includes Seagate Crystal Reports for automated report generation of job and media status. The "One-Button Backup" function allows administrators to protect the entire server by simply pressing a single button on the administration console. Alternatively, an administrator can launch a backup job to protect a system resource - a volume, directory or file - by right-clicking it from within Microsoft Explorer.
