Following the acquisitions of Seagate Software Network and Storage Management Group and TeleBackup Systems by VERITAS last year, as well as the acquisitions of OpenVision Technologies in 1997, VERITAS Software is launching a new channel partner programme in South Africa in August this year.
The new programme, called VPlus, will create a more structured channel partner programme, differentiating partners from one another and creating specialised areas of focus that customers can use to select their partner of choice.
"The VPlus programme will consist of three levels, Elite, Premier and Select. Existing partners under our TeamExec programme will transition into Select with the option to move up based on skills," says Nick van Noordwyk, regional manager, Middle East and Africa at VERITAS Software.
Partners opting to join the new programme will receive greater value from VERITAS in terms of tailored support and training certification specific to their area of focus. They will have access to VERITAS products depending on what level of reseller they are, determined by their experience in the field and skill set. These partners will specialise in one or more of the following: offline storage, online storage, application storage solutions or high availability solutions.
"The Elite Level partners will be partners focussing on the VERITAS high-end solutions, while the Premier level will be those focussing on medium to large enterprise solutions and the Select level will be the entry level programme focussing on small to medium workgroup solutions," says van Noordwyk.
