Nasdaq listed enterprise and e-commerce software provider Verity has opened a Johannesburg sales office. The company aims to leverage off its existing channel and develop its international partnerships.
Verity`s e-commerce and corporate portal software tools help organisations search and organise information.
With sales offices throughout Europe, the company sees its new office in SA, as well as those in Mexico, Brazil, Singapore and Sweden as a reflection of the emerging market opportunities for business portal infrastructure software outside the US.
"Verity`s new office in Johannesburg will allow us to take greater advantage of the expanding market opportunity in this region," says the company`s president, Anthony Bettencourt.
"Verity has been actively developing local channel partners and customers like Kalahari.net, Billiton, eDiscovery, Absa Bank, IDC and the Department of Communications for many years. Our direct sales presence will enhance our ability to increase revenues in this region."
Verity has existing channel partners including PQ Business Intelligence and KMS Technology as well as international partnerships with Hewlett-Packard and Oracle, among others.
"I`m very pleased that we`re now setting up a direct operation to enhance our sales efforts, and to bring us closer to the customer," says Garth Wittles, Verity`s SA district manager.
"Because of our existing revenue base and referenceable customers, we`re positioned to hit the ground running with our own local sales team. I`m confident that this reinforced presence will give us the opportunity to expand Verity`s success in SA."
