Verizon to augment cloud services
Verizon Business has increased its 'computing-as-a-service' (CaaS) cloud computing infrastructure to enhance the 'everything-as-a-service' vision, writes ChannelWeb.
The offering allows enterprises and small to medium-size enterprises provision infrastructure and on-demand computing resources. Clients use Verizon's management portal to provision CaaS.
“While CaaS is not yet available through the channel,” says Patrick Verhoeven, Verizon Business cloud computing product manager, “the CaaS roadmap includes channel availability in the near future”.
Razorfish establishes cloud practice
Razorfish is creating a cloud computing practice to help clients on the Web-based computing platform, reports Clickz.
Rey Velez, Razorfish's CTO, says the agency has been helping clients increase advertising ROI by up to 500% by helping them adopt it. About 100 employees will work on the new practice part time and will be coordinated by Velez.
"We can offer clients a very rapid, cost-effective way to set up microsites and Web sites leveraging cloud infrastructure," says Velez." I think it is applicable to any client we work with, depending on their comfort level with the technology."
CoreVault, Asigra for cloud backup
Asigra has partnered with CoreVault, designating it with the highest partnership designation of 3D Hybrid Partner, according to Data Storage Connection.
The partnership allows the cloud backup service provider to focus and manage its customer relationships, and extracts minimum margins for partners who have their own vault licences. The model allows companies to scale delivery of its technology.
"The Asigra 3D Hybrid Partner programme allows channel providers without an on-premise backup vault to host cloud backup services through a proven provider like CoreVault," says Eric Strong, vice-president for Asigra.
