Buyers Laboratory Inc (BLI) has recommended the 105-page-per-minute Oc'e VarioPrint 2110 multifunctional digital production system in its 2005 report.
BLI is the US`s leading independent office products testing laboratory and issues reports on office equipment with clearly explained test procedures and results.
In its report, BLI states: "This 105ppm...multifunctional product, whose manufacturer`s recommended monthly volume is almost two times that of most similar speed competitors, proved itself well-suited to meeting the demands of production environments in BLI`s rigorous two-month laboratory evaluation."
A mid-volume production system targeted at central reprographic departments and corporate and commercial print shops, the Oc'e VarioPrint 2110 offers standard copy and network printing functions, as well as optional scanning, and is ideally suited for those aiming to print between 150 000 and a million prints per month.
The Oc'e VarioPrint 2110 has the productive power to handle diverse, complex documents in both analogue and digital, tabbed jobs, mixed-stock, colour inserts and single- and double-sided pages. The system can be connected to inline finishing equipment such as inline binders, stackers or booklet makers.
The system`s easy-to-use graphical interface allows the user to print, copy and scan jobs with one push of a button. This takes all the complexity out of the most advanced digital or hardcopy jobs even in concurrent operations like next-job programming, scanning, printing and ripping. Job preparation and machine production occur independently, enabling the operator to start, stop, reshuffle and edit jobs to meet deadlines. All media used on the system can be defined and stored in the unique Media Catalogue. All defined media appear on both the driver and user interface where they can be easily selected.
The VarioPrint 2110 can print on a wide variety of different media, including tabs and preprinted colour inserts. It is ideal for the integration of full colour and black and white in one document. Media jams are a thing of the past, even with labels and synthetic materials, as the system`s unique state-of-the-art paper input uses air separation and vacuum feed to ensure failure-proof input of a wide media range, even when printing at rated speed.
The unique Oc'e Copy Press image-transfer technology transports the image to the paper instead of the other way around, making the paper path significantly shorter and making paper jams virtually impossible. The system has the ability to produce on oversized and custom-sized media and has a capacity of 4 600 oversized sheets.
BLI concludes: "Remarkably, the unit experienced only three misfeeds during the test period, which translates to an outstanding misfeed rate of just one per 403 793 impressions. A solid overall performer in the tests, the Oc'e VarioPrint 2110 is recommended by BLI for monthly volumes of up to 750 000 impressions."
