VIA offers all-platform support for new AMD Athlon processors

Johannesburg, 15 Nov 2001

VIA Technologies has promised full support for the new AMD Athlon XP processor 1900+.

VIA has welcomed the launch of this higher performing processor and is set to provide a wide range of core logic chipsets for it covering all PC market segments, including the high-end, mainstream, integrated and mobile PC markets.

"The close working relationship between VIA and AMD has benefited both companies over the years, and continues with the launch of this new processor from AMD," says Tim Handley, VIA`s marketing manager in SA.

"The combination of the VIA Apollo KT266A and the AMD Athlon XP processor 1900+ with QuantiSpeed architecture is a natural performance choice for the Socket A market," he adds.
