VideoJet 1000: The next generation of digital video transmission

By Global Research Partners
Johannesburg, 05 Aug 2002

Controlware GmbH, a leading provider of business continuity and network access products, today announced its new VideoJet 1000 product as an addition to its Networked Video product line. The VideoJet 1000 brings to the market the ultimate in digital video quality and performance, satisfying high-end requirements with unmatched functionality using MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 standards for broadcast quality video.

The system provides simultaneous transmission in two compression standards: MPEG-2 for DVD quality broadcasting and MPEG-4 for streaming of images over bandwidth limited channels.

In applications where only limited bandwidth for transmission is available (ie Internet streaming), the VideoJet 1000 saves bandwidth by recording the MPEG-2 format signal on a local hard drive where recordings can easily be referenced, while simultaneously encoding and transmitting the same pictures in a more compact MPEG-4 format to remote users.

Providing sharp images of remote sites, events or people, the VideoJet 1000 is ideally suited for LAN TV, distant learning, traffic monitoring, facility management, building security, access monitoring and control.

The multicast feature provides bandwidth efficient video sharing over digital networks. Equipped with an internal ring buffer or an optional hard disk with storage capacity of 80 GB, the VideoJet 1000 also features an internal motion detector and an alarm input for external devices. The VideoJet 1000 is compatible with both PAL and NTSC formats.

As with every other Controlware networked video solution product, it also can be managed remotely.
