Monthly subscribers to the Vidi video-on-demand platform will now be able to pay for the service using their EasyPay accounts.
Vidi, launched in September 2014, offers viewers unlimited subscription to a library of movies and TV series for R149 per month. Viewers also have the option to instantly rent the latest releases for R27 and a selection of library titles from R15.
"Vidi is expanding rapidly as we approach our one-year anniversary next month. With continual increases in our available content came a natural commitment to make it easier for South Africans to pay for their subscription-based Vidi content," says Vidi spokesperson Janene Matsukis.
EasyPay offers consumers a point-of-sale bill payment service integrated into national retailers, the Internet, self-service kiosks and mobile handsets.
Once Vidi viewers' accounts have been credited, they will receive an SMS notification, with payments taking up to 24 hours to reflect, a statement notes.
According to Vidi, the partnership with EasyPay follows the recent announcement of a payment agreement with Vodacom, allowing Vidi users to pay via their Vodacom contract bills.
