Virgin media offers free Spotify deals
broadband and mobile customers, The Inquirer reports.
Broadband customers will be able to use the Spotify Premium service for six months at no charge. Virgin Mobile customers who also have Virgin broadband will get the same service for three months free and with no data charges.
Cindy Rose, executive director of digital entertainment at Virgin Media, said: "The launch of Spotify on Virgin Media marks a significant milestone for digital entertainment and the way it is enjoyed by consumers. Bringing together Virgin Media services with brilliant entertainment such as Spotify is a core part of our ongoing strategy, and we're excited to be able to lead the way with such a great partnership."
According to BBC, experts believe the bundle will help Spotify compete against Apple's iTunes music store and other streaming services such as Deezer.
"Telecoms companies moving into the music space increases revenue streams to the music industry and provides benefits for fans and artists alike," said Andreas Liffgarden, Spotify's global head of telecoms business development.
Virgin Media said it will also waive related data charges for Virgin Mobile customers using the offer.
In addition, existing customers can take advantage of the offer if they upgrade their packages or sign up to a new 12-month contract, PCR writes.
The pro version of the music streaming service costs £9.99 a month making the deal worth nearly £60. "With Spotify there are no limits to the amount of music you can listen to. Just help yourself to whatever you want, whenever you want it," Virgin said
