
Virgin Media signs CM deal
On Demand Group (ODG), the media services division of SeaChange International, has signed a four-year contract to provide content management (CM) services for Virgin Media's TV On Demand service, states Trading Markets.
Virgin Media's 3.5 million digital TV subscribers watched over half a billion on-demand programmes during 2008, with the service growing by 60%.
Katharine Burns-Rivington, executive director of content acquisition at Virgin Media says: "More and more people are choosing to watch what they want, when they want and the popularity of our on-demand service continues to grow. ODG has a track record of successfully handling content management services on our behalf so we are pleased to continue working with them."
Nucleus cruises ahead with EPiServer
EPiServer revealed that its new UK partner, Nucleus, will be using EPiServer's Web content management system for the P&O Cruises Web site, says Business Wire.
Peter Matthews, Nucleus' MD, says: “We now look forward to joining EPiServer's official partner programme which will give us access to its developer community and enable us to achieve cost-savings as we deploy EPiServer for other sites”.
EPiServer will be exhibiting at the Internet World show in London this week.
AT&T manages media content
AT&T has rolled out a fully managed private content distribution service (PCDS) which is designed to help enterprises deliver rich media content, reports TMCnet.
The company's PCDS is part of AT&T's Digital Media Solutions portfolio, a suite of content delivery and digital media solutions that helps companies package, deliver and distribute video and rich multimedia Web content across their networks to the computer, the television and mobile computing devices.
The solution aims to assist companies reduce costs through lower capital investment and efficient use of bandwidth and minimise network congestion from streaming and other rich media applications.
