Virtustream raises $15m
Tech Crunch writes.
This brings Virtustream's total funding raised to $75 million.
Virtustream provides strategy, integration and managed services utilising virtualisation technologies, and xStream, the company's cloud provisioning platform.
Market Watch says part of the proceeds from the raise will be used to further enhance xStream, Virtustream's secure, high-performance cloud platform.
xStream delivers secure enterprise class clouds, with application level SLAs, supporting multiple hypervisors, and is the industry's first cloud solution to use 'Micro-VM' technology providing efficiency significantly beyond traditional virtualisation and enabling a truly consumption-based pricing model.
The money will also allow the company to expand “across new geographies and sectors” to meet the growing demand for cloud services in the commercial and government sectors, Washington Business Journal notes.
The new round is Virtustream's biggest venture financing since it nabbed $40 million in May 2010. Last month, the company completed its buyout of Toronto-based cloud services broker Enomaly.
