Vision Solutions, the US-based subsidiary of Idion Technology Holdings, has appointed Stephen Massey as executive vice-president of worldwide sales.
Massey previously held the same post at Lakeview Technology, which competes against Vision in the high-availability market.
He also served as vice-president of business development during his time at Lakeview.
He has more than 30 years of experience in sales, management and business development, with 14 of those years in senior sales-management positions. Five years were spent in senior-executive positions at high-availability solution providers.
Vision president and chief operating officer Alan Arnold says Massey`s strong global sales-management and business-development experience, as well as his knowledge of the high-availability marketplace, make him a valuable addition to the company.
Massey`s career began at Star Data Systems where he specialised in sales and sales training on IBM hardware. He then moved to Sirius Computer Solutions where, under his supervision, the hardware division grew from $4.5 million to $175 million and became IBM`s largest midrange solution provider in North America.
During his eight-and-a-half years at Sirius, Massey progressed from vice-president of sales to executive vice-president and then chief operating officer. During this time, average sales per representative increased by more than 300% and margins increased by 31%.
