Idion Technology Holdings` US subsidiary, Vision Solutions, says it is experiencing more interest in its Enterprise Availability Information solution than ever, despite the market downturn.
[VIDEO]Nicolaas Vlok, CEO of Idion Technology Holdings and Vision Solutions, says the companies are seeing record revenues this year.
"We have recorded a record third quarter in terms of revenue growth. Our revenue grew 44% from our third quarter in 2000 to third quarter 2001. In fact, 2001 was the first year where we`ve actually grown our revenues three quarters sequentially to each-other."
[VIDEO]Vlok says this is due in part to the fact that business continuity/disaster recovery technology enjoyed renewed focus after the 11 September attacks in New York.
"While the market is still challenging, Idion has never had a more receptive audience. We are seeing a lot more companies asking for proposals and considering investing in disaster recovery technology in the next financial year, so we expect long-term, rather than short-term benefits." He expects to increase market share by double digits next year.
Vlok says the South African market for business continuity technology is growing because businesses are preparing themselves to go to the next level. "They are not just investing in high availability technology because of recent tragedies, they are also taking into account their business needs during planned down time - for example, when they are doing upgrades or backups."
Vlok, who is based in the US, was speaking during a visit to SA to launch Vision Solutions` new offerings - the new Vision Suite Enterprise Edition continuous availability solution and the Vision Suite ClusterAdvantage Program, billed as a services-rich offering providing powerful and effective software, consulting services and educational programs to make an enterprise continuously available.
