Vision Solutions, IBM partner

Vision Solutions, a high availability and solutions provider in IBM Power Systems markets, has entered into a worldwide distribution agreement with IBM designed to benefit partners and customers, says Market Watch.

Effective immediately, IBM will begin distributing Vision Cluster1 as a flagship enterprise cluster management solution for the IBM operating system.

"With ever-growing collaboration, both companies have agreed to share intellectual property, further integrate technologies and align distribution resources more closely," said Nicolaas Vlok, president and CEO of Vision Solutions.

DR plans need testing

Small to medium enterprises have a tendency to rely on their IT staff's knowledge of the environment and feel they are covered in the event of a disaster, states Search Storage.

However, that same staff may not be available following a disaster and the company might have to rely on other resources that are not as familiar with their IT environment to assist with the recovery effort.

This is where all the shortcomings of the disaster recovery plan can be exposed and why it is imperative to test before this happens.
