MSN, Microsoft`s consumer Web portal, has partnered with Artslink.co.za, the South African arts, culture and entertainment hub, providing its users with access to the latest information in the arts and entertainment industry, thereby enhancing MSN`s broader content offering.
Since its inception in 1997, Artslink.co.za has specialised in connecting artists and audiences, providing and collating information. All relevant news pertaining to the overall arts industry is posted on Artslink.co.za`s news page, linked to relevant database entries and archived with a search facility in real time. Now, for the first time, MSN users can access this information free on the MSN.co.za site.
Ashika Kalyan, country manager of MSN South Africa, says: "The arts and entertainment industry is critical to SA`s cultural development and Artslink.co.za has contributed to this greatly by bridging the technology and arts gap. MSN intends to develop the arts industry by offering its users this important content offering. Users can now be exposed to South African arts and culture and the latest happenings on the cultural circuit."
TJ de Klerk, Webmaster of Artslink.co.za, says: "This partnership is an important step for Artslink.co.za as we are able to further our reach by contacting MSN`s 1 million local subscribers and 340 000 hotmail users. The South African arts industry has traditionally been neglected and ventures such as this contribute to the growth of the arts."
