Lithotech and Visual Information Systems (VIS) are preparing for the launch of the much-anticipated Lithonet Business Forms Management System. A team of programmers from the highly regarded software development company VIS have developed LithoNet. LithoNet is an Internet-based e-commerce tool that underpins Lithotech`s Less Paper Strategy.
The main purpose of LithoNet is to reduce Lithotech`s customers` total cost of business forms. Customers will be able to access LithoNet`s computer systems and get real-time information on current printing jobs status, records of existing stocks and form types.
According to Ute Lambrecht, Project Co-ordinator at VIS: "LithoNet will enable the Lithotech group of companies to incorporate best business practices, improve productivity and maintain high levels of services to their customers."
LithoNet consists of a central electronic library, which includes current and old versions of all relevant documents, incorporating them in a product version control system; users can browse this library and requisition stock, subject to access control. On site and/or Lithotech stock levels for a particular item can be viewed. Customers have the ability to request quotes for jobs that they require and order personalised documents, the details thereof can be entered online. Low usage items can be printed locally directly from the library. In addition, forms can be filled in on the screen, printed or routed electronically to their destination, eliminating paper completely.
LithoNet has undergone an extensive test process at two pilot sites within the Lithotech group of companies and the full roll-out in June is eagerly anticipated.
