VMWare snaps up Log Insight

The move follows the acquisitions of cloud automation solution provider DynamicOps, network virtualisation specialist Nicira and desktop management company Wanova.

Computer World notes that Spiros Xanthos, CEO and co-founder of Pattern Insight, said in a blogpost: “Ever since we started Pattern Insight, our vision has been to change how people search, mine and analyse their vast amounts of IT and engineering data.

“Log Insight, a log analytics product, is the culmination of our efforts aiming at management and real-time operational analytics for IT data regardless of scale.”

Intel, Motorola and Qualcomm are some of the big name customers of Log Insight. The financial details of the deal have not yet been revealed.

Log Insight combines analytics- and log-management technology to help companies analyse large amounts of data created in cloud and virtualised environments, Fierce Enterprise Communication writes.

It also helps identify trends and patterns within the cloud-computing environment, giving administrators insight into possible issues before they become full-blown problems.
