
VMware unveils cloud tech
As technology giants rush to add products and services for the fast-growing part of the industry known as cloud computing, VMware, a Silicon Valley company that helped usher in the mania, is readying a new push of its own, writes the Wall Street Journal.
Cloud computing is an industry term for information that is stored remotely on equipment operated by outside specialists and accessed via the Internet.
At its annual conference this week, VMware will unveil technology aimed at both making it easier for businesses to move information into the cloud and to run their own data centres more efficiently.

IT firm and cloud integrator Torry Harris Business Solutions (THBS) has entered into a strategic integration partnership with WSO2, a provider of open source enterprise middleware platforms, reveals Information Week.
The partnership is said to offer an expanded set of integrated offerings in the service-oriented architecture and cloud integration space, by leveraging WSO2's carbon platform and THBS' service factory approach.
The partnership aims to help enterprises benefit from cost-efficiencies realised through WSO2's fully open source licensing terms and the distributed agile delivery methodology followed by Torry Harris.
StreamBase develops event processing architecture
StreamBase Systems introduced a certification program for Complex Event Processing (CEP) technology developers, says ebizQ.
The certification program is said to help CEP architects differentiate themselves in the marketplace by providing them with the knowledge and skills required to successfully build event-driven applications using the StreamBase EventFlow programming language.
The demand for expertise in developing real-time applications has dramatically increased over the past few years. The StreamBase Certification Program claims to enable StreamBase, its partners and its customers to recruit developers who have a solid foundation and understanding in event processing architecture and design.
