VOD Communications joins Sonus Partner Assure Program

Johannesburg, 04 Dec 2012

VOD Communications has joined the Sonus Partner Assure Program and is the first authorised Sonus Distributor to distribute Sonus Session Border Controllers (SBCs) to reseller partners in the sub-Saharan region, enabling them to address their customers' growing demand for SBCs that enable SIP trunking and SIP-based unified communications applications.

Sonus has the broadest portfolio of SBCs that are Microsoft Lync qualified, and offers the most complete portfolio of purpose-built SBCs in the market, enabling all organisations, from small to large, to simplify their infrastructure and deploy video and unified communications features. The Sonus SBC 1000 provides up to 100 sessions; the Sonus SBC 2000 provides up to 600 sessions; the Sonus SBC 5100 provides up to 10 000 sessions; and the Sonus SBC 5200 provides up to 64 000 sessions.

Sonus has been the fastest-growing SBC vendor in the service provider market since 2011 with industry-leading 19 share point gain since 1Q11 (Infonetics Service Provider and IMS VOIP Equipment and Subscribers, 3Q12 report).

"We see tremendous opportunity in the Sonus portfolio for our resellers," said Hanro Wentzel, Director of VOD Communications. "As the adoption of SIP trunking and SIP-based unified communication grows and gains momentum, resellers need to be well-versed in the products and technologies that will enable them to serve their customers' needs. Sonus delivers the critical session border controller technology and expertise needed for effective SIP migrations, and VOD Communications is key to enabling delivery of these solutions to the reseller and enterprise market."
