Vodacom has unveiled its uChoose Smart plans, a mobile payment plan that is says allows the flexibility of monthly payments and the spend control of pre-paid.
According to a Vodacom statement, customers can choose between four uChoose Smart options, that each have a certain amount of minutes, SMSes and data.
The cheapest plan starts at R129p/m, with the priciest plan at R579p/m.
Customers can then "enhance" their plans by adding packages of extra minutes, SMSes and data. All prices exclude a mobile phone.
"You can tailor your Vodacom uChoose plan with as many of the daily or monthly value added services that you love from pre-pay," says the mobile operator.
"Just like on prepay, you are always in control with uChoose. If you use all of your airtime, you can simply recharge to add more minutes or more megs of Internet. In addition, you can use our new flexible recharge options so you never risk running out of airtime."
Vodacom chief commercial officer Phil Patel says the operator's new uChoose plans are designed to put customers in control.
"Our new plans are very simple. No more on-net and off-net limitations. They are simple and easy to understand and offer amazing value," he says.
