Vodacom has introduced two new packages, which cut call rates for its prepaid customers.
From 1 October, prepaid customers can choose between Vodacom's existing packages or its new packages: All Day or Per Second Plus Prepaid.
Vodacom SA MD Shameel Joosub says: “While we have not had a tariff increase for over six years, we have heard our customers and are lowering prepaid peak rates by up to 35%.”
The All Day package offers calls billed per second with an on-net (Vodacom to Vodacom) call rate of R1.85 a minute, or 3.1c a second. Off-net is R1.99 a minute, or 3.3c a second.
Vodacom's new Per Second Plus package offers up to 16% discount on calls during peak time and a newly extended off-peak time from 7pm to 7am.
“The All Day package is very suitable for prepaid customers who primarily make calls during business hours, from 7am to 8pm, while the Per Second Plus package will benefit customers with the off-peak period moving one hour earlier to 7pm, giving these customers the opportunity to make cheaper calls from early evening,” says Joosub.
