Vodacom recognised, rewarded by Superbrands 2005

Vodacom, SA`s leading cellular network, received Superbrand status with the official handover of the Superbrand certificate, as recognition of Vodacom`s Superbrand status in SA.

"Vodacom`s expanding footprint across the continent is testament to its phenomenal performance within the communications industry. The company has built strong brand loyalty in the past 10 years and its strategic use of sports sponsorship has made Vodacom a household name - I don`t think there is anyone in SA that doesn`t know the phrase `Yebo Gogo`. Vodacom is a shining example of a Superbrand," says Simon Goddard, Superbrands Project Director.

Superbrands recognises, rewards and reinforces leading brands from all over the world and provides a comprehensive package of brand building and strengthening services, including extensive marketing, PR exposure and consumer awareness programmes.

The selection criteria guidelines used by the Superbrands Council to assist it in its grading process include market dominance, brand longevity, goodwill, customer loyalty and overall market acceptance.

Vodacom`s involvement in CSI and a variety of sport sponsorships, as the biggest supporter of South African supporters, further entrenches us as leaders in the market," concluded Beyers.
