Business Connection, in a joint venture with Elexir Computer Services, has been awarded Vodacom`s Microsoft Enterprise Licence Agreement. The deal is worth R20 million over the next three years. This agreement puts Vodacom at the forefront of technology and allows instant access to the latest Microsoft software releases throughout their company.
As one of only seven official Microsoft Direct Large Account Resellers (DLAR) Business Connection will offer Vodacom a comprehensive enterprise solution that includes:
Licenses, service, and support for a minimum of 3 years,
Lower total cost of ownership for Vodacom`s technology assets which will deliver real business value,
The most up-to-date desktop software throughout the enterprise, ensuring compliance, further simplifying licensing administration, and gain predictable, long-term software costs.
The Microsoft project stemmed from Elexir`s earlier information technology (IT) audit assisting Vodacom to achieve Y2K compliance. This entailed a detailed assessment of all their IT equipment, software and systems to identify any problems that may arise as the cellular service provider enters the new millenium.
Elexir approached Business Connection as a joint venture partner in accordance with their social responsibility policy to support businesses with a strong empowerment drive. "In partnering with the 67% Black owned LAR, Elexir could ensure the project`s success. Business Connection specializes in the provision best of breed IT products, whilst combining business intelligence with state of the art technology-offering customers an integrated, single-source IT-based solution," says Chonco, CEO of Elexir Technology Holdings.
