Vodacom has unveiled a promotional bundle offering, Chat for 20, which gives customers 20 voice minutes to any network at any time, for R10.
The promotion, which translates into an effective rate of 50c per minute, was initiated already on 30 April - although Vodacom only communicated the product info this morning - and will run until 14 July. It is available to all Vodacom prepaid, Top Up and uChoose customers.
A maximum of seven Chat for 20 bundles can be purchased during the week (Monday to Sunday) between 06:00 and 22:00, and can be used until 23:59 on the day of purchase. Calls will be calculated on a per-minute basis for a cumulative period of 20 minutes, says Vodacom.

The Chat for 20 promotion coincides with Vodacom's 79c per minute prepaid promotion - launched yesterday, about a week after its main rival MTN announced its own 79c prepaid promotion would become a permanent tariff as of 7 May.
The new products and promotions come in the wake of the Independent Communication Authority of SA's decision to halve termination rates (from 40c to 20c) and introduce asymmetry that largely favours smaller operators Cell C and Telkom Mobile (44c).
Cell C, self-professed consumer champion and usually the first to come to market with slashed rates, has introduced four new prepaid vouchers under its Supacharge portfolio, but has yet to react to MTN's 79c prepaid rate.
MTN, which has been largely absent from the mobile price war instigated by Cell C in 2012, has undercut what Cell C positioned as the "lowest guaranteed flat call rate in SA" by 20c - although its contract prices have remained unchanged.
Telkom Mobile's SIM-Sonke product offers prepaid call rates of 25c per minute for on-net calls and 75c for off-net calls.
