
Vodafone rolls out fixed-mobile service
Vodafone has unveiled a converged fixed and mobile voice service targeted at small and medium-sized businesses in the UK, reports Total Telecom.
Vodafone One Net, which has already been rolled out by Vodafone companies in Italy and the Czech Republic, is an integrated fixed and mobile voice service that is hosted by Vodafone. The service is underpinned by a managed services agreement with BT Wholesale for IP-enabled voice and broadband services.
Peter Kelly, director of enterprise business unit at Vodafone, says it will be able to offer a hosted, integrated mobile and fixed service with just one phone number, one voicemail client and one bill.
Huawei unveils next-gen tech
Huawei, telecommunications network solutions provider, has introduced its SingleRAN Dual Mode remote radio unit and mobile softswitch products for telecoms operators, says Duniya Live.
As part of its all-IP convergence strategy, Huawei's SingleRAN solution enables operators to achieve full convergence of multi-mode wireless networks, while simultaneously providing end-users with multimode services in one network.
Huawei says it represents a major step towards an all-IP converged network as it enables operators to simplify their network, protect network investments and increase business profitability.
InVox converges the cloud
InVox has released a cloud-based voice service that includes an interactive voice response feature, states Network World.
"InVox is doing for business phone systems what Saleforce.com did for CRM by eliminating the need for costly professional services and expensive hardware," says Manohar Chapalamadugu, founder and CTO of InVox.
In addition, InVox disclosed it has partnered with Gizmo5 to bring Google Voice to business owners. Invox subscribers use the graphical drag-and-drop interface to add a free Google Voice number.
