AMSI teams up with Nortel
Academia Management Solutions International (AMSI) is teaming up with Nortel to improve its broadband mobility and multimedia capabilities, with an IP network across its International School of Arts and Sciences (ISAS) campus, reports CNN Money
The IP network will provide all communications services, such as VOIP, multimedia and WiFi broadband mobility to the entire Dubai campus.
Deployed in conjunction with Nortel's channel partner, MDS PACC, the new integrated voice and data IP network will support AMSI's Notebooks for Books project.
NHS installs VOIP
NHS Direct has installed a new VOIP-based system for its patient calls, reports Telappliant.
The two-year project to change the NHS customer communications front required the installation of 2 000 VOIP handsets, coupled with virtual call centre technology.
Implementing one NHS network across all 22 sites, network switches can now make use of VOIP to work through network switches. These re-route patient calls from one centre to the next available one.
