VOIP systems open to attack

At the end of 2007, analysts and journalists made their predictions about all things tech in 2008, states BroadbandReports.

Among those predictions were numerous warnings that VOIP were going to be high this year, businesses were forewarned to start protecting their VOIP systems from hackers.

Despite being told they should test their VOIP systems now to avoid security problems down the line, research indicates most businesses aren't doing anything to make sure their VOIP systems are secure.

Acme, Camiant partner

Acme Packet is teaming with Camiant to demonstrate a joint VOIP solution at CTIA 2008, says TMC Net.

Combined with Acme Packet, Camiant hse developed a VOIP solution that focuses on the quality of service and delivery control for reliable interactive communications.

"As mobile broadband has matured, bandwidth demand has increased substantially, bringing network congestion and quality issues," said Randy Fuller, VP of business development at Camiant.

CommPartners selects Packet

CommPartners Connect has integrated Packet Island technology into its core network, states MySolutionInfo.

The integration will assist VARs utilising Packet Island appliances to complete pre-assessments and monitoring of IP communications deployments for their SMB customers on the CommPartners Connect network resulting in a quality VOIP adoption experience.

"As one of the leading wholesalers and networks for IP communications solutions for business, CommPartners Connect is now uniquely positioned to enable VARs using the Packet Island assessment and monitoring tools to pre-assess their customer access networks prior to VOIP deployment," said Don Lewis, VP of Services at Packet Island.
