IS Partners' director, David Ives, has been named in the short-list of 10 nominees for the 2010 ITWeb IT Personality of the Year.
Ives is recognised in the industry for his regular thought leadership contributions and speaking engagements on topics pertinent to the IT industry. He has carved a niche as a respected authority in the areas of cloud computing, IT in manufacturing, business intelligence, knowledge management, collaboration, and data governance.
He made his mark in the industry over the past nine years with Microsoft SA, where he held numerous executive positions, including leading the company's operating group that partners with the major telcos, media and entertainment providers in the country. He was also previously director of Developer and Platform Strategy, Solutions and Technology Manager for the Enterprise Group.
David joined IS Partners in January this year as General Manager of the Business Intelligence, Knowledge Management and Corporate Performance Management divisions.
Outside of his work commitments, he contributes to various social causes and is actively involved in the development of entrepreneurs in the industry, also acting as a mentor and coach to individuals in communities such as Soweto and Alexandra through the Mankind project.
