Vox Amvia brings Captaris Single Click Entry to SA

Johannesburg, 20 Nov 2008

Vox Amvia, the fax solutions specialist, has announced Captaris Single Click Entry, an application which captures data from faxes and allows it to be transferred without retyping into corporate back-end applications. Examples include completing forms on the Web, typing data into an ERP application, indexing documents for an archiving system or entering the content of a customer transaction into a CRM system.

Through this process, Captaris Single Click Entry can save companies millions a year in enhanced productivity, reduced rework and fewer errors.

Single Click Entry gives users the ability to capture, extract and index information from document images in Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007, or in Captaris applications, such as RightFax, which Vox Amvia distributes in South Africa.

Single Click Entry analyses text and extracts metadata, using optical character recognition software to populate fields in Microsoft files or Web forms for indexing or further processing, including workflow.

Once data is extracted and populated to a database or file, a business process is typically started. Images in SharePoint Server 2007 and Captaris applications are available for Single Click Entry automation.

"Billions of faxes are sent every year," says Boudje Giljam, sales and marketing director at Vox Amvia. “Millions of people around the world, including many thousands in South Africa, spend valuable hours working with these faxes to capture information from an existing document, rekeying information such as customer numbers, policy details, or entire pages of text

"Everybody hates doing it, but until now there hasn't been a choice. Single Click Entry solves this problem."

"The time of highly qualified employees is frequently spent on menial activities," Giljam points out. "Not only does that result in unnecessary costs, but it's also a source of frustration for employees, and it opens the potential for finger error, which then cascades through enterprise systems and manifests in persistent data quality issues."

Single Click Entry simplifies and accelerates these tasks. Whenever a form or dialogue box requires input from a document, users switch temporarily from their application to the Single Click Entry document display. There, they are easily guided through the input fields of their application by the Navigator, a small information box attached to their mouse cursor. The user points to the required information, clicks once, and Single Click Entry inserts the data. Once the last input field has been reached, users are automatically returned to their application. Small but effective utilities help users quickly locate the needed information in the document.
