Vox Telepreneur, the consumer telephony division of alternative telecoms provider Vox Telecom, has paid out R2m in commissions to entrepreneurs in its first year of operation -
“We decided to use a network marketing model for Vox Telepreneur because we wanted to help develop new entrepreneurs, so we're thrilled to see that it's working,” says group CEO Douglas Reed. “Our dealers make an initial investment of just R780 and unlike many network marketers we don't charge for training, so there is extremely low risk involved.”
“For many people this is their first taste of running their own business, and most of our dealers are choosing to start out part time,” Reed adds. “It's a great training ground for future business ventures.”
Reed says Vox Telepreneur's top dealers are currently earning around R10, 000 a month. “They earn a commission on the sale of every Vox ADSL Phone, as well as commissions on the call minutes that the customer makes from then on,” says Reed. “So every new customer increases the dealer's ongoing annuity revenue”.
There are currently 3000 active Vox Telepreneur dealers,. “We've started slowly, and we're very satisfied with the growth figures we're seeing,” says Reed. “We paid out just under R230, 000 in February, and expect to see significant growth over the remainder of the year.”
