Manchester, UK, 11 August 2005 - VXL Instruments, one of the world`s leading manufacturers of Windows-based terminals and thin client devices, has entered into a distribution agreement with SYNNEX Corporation, a global IT supply chain services company, to distribute its range of Windows-based terminals, thin client devices and related products to resellers in the US and Canada.
Under the terms of the agreement, SYNNEX will offer VXL`s full suite of product offerings, including the Itona series of thin client devices with embedded Windows XP, Linux and Windows CE operating systems, as well as thin client notebook computers.
The appointment is part of VXL`s continued global channel development programme and aggressive growth strategy to achieve 25% market share by the end of 2007. This is the latest in a series of significant milestones for VXL over the last 12 months including $9 million in funding, the launch of its new Itona 1GHz product range and the opening of its new European HQ and Logistics centre in Manchester.
"The addition of VXL thin client and Windows-based devices is a considerable enhancement to our portfolio of server-based computing solutions," said John Paget, President of North America and Chief Operating Officer of SYNNEX Corporation. "With increasing concerns in network security, VXL offers users a more secure environment through a feature-rich, high-performance thin client network at cost-effective price points. We`re pleased to have VXL as a vendor partner and look forward to offering VXL`s set of solutions to our reseller partners."
"The North American market represents a significant opportunity for growth for VXL, and SYNNEX is our distributor of choice to bring our products into this marketplace," stated Arun Bhuwania, Chairman and CEO of VXL Instruments Limited. "SYNNEX has extensive expertise in supply chain management and can deliver VXL products and solutions into the fast-growing, thin client market through its extensive reseller customer base. We look forward to building a long-term and successful relationship with SYNNEX."
"This is strategic move on behalf of both organisations," explained Frank Noon, VP Sales at VXL. "VXL represents SYNNEX`s first foray into the Thin Client market and we`re delighted that they have identified VXL as their partner of choice to address this growing market opportunity. From a VXL perspective the appointment of a distribution partner of the calibre of SYNNEX, a $5 billion, 2 000-employee organisation, further endorses our aggressive growth strategy and signifies our intent in attacking the thin client market in North America."
