Walker International has announced support for Arbor Integration Server. Arbor Integration Server is a suite of graphical tools and scalable data integration services that minimise the time and expense required to create, deploy and manage enterprise OLAP applications.
Walker Horizon and Arbor are both represented in South Africa by the IBD Group.
Horizon, Walker`s next-generation analytic application suite, will utilise Arbor Integration Server to integrate data from disparate financial and operational applications. Walker Horizon automates planning, forecasting, budgeting and financial consolidation to help companies better manage company performance.
Walker Horizon customers will benefit from the integration of Horizon with Arbor Integration Server because it will simplify the effort needed to integrate disparate data into the Arbor Essbase OLAP Server. The combination of Walker Horizon analytic applications and the Arbor Integration Server will allow companies to deploy performance management-based solutions.
Arbor Integration Server supports custom, on-demand and packaged analytic applications through the rapid assembly of reusable dimensions, hierarchies and calculation logic centrally maintained in a shared, enterprise OLAP metadata catalogue.
Arbor Integration Server makes it easy to combine the speed-of-thought query performance, calculation capability, and analytic application breadth of Arbor Essbase OLAP Server with the scalability, extensibility and sophisticated data management capabilities of leading relational databases.

Horizon is Walker`s latest offering in the fast-growing market for analytic applications, which IDC predicts will grow to $2,6 billion by 2001. The Walker Horizon 3.0 suite allows users to analyse financial and operational data in order to predict the financial outcome of business activities and make corrections to better meet business goals.
Walker Horizon integrates data from any ERP, financial (Walker, SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft) or operational application to automate planning, forecasting, budgeting and financial consolidation on the NT, Unix and AS/400 platforms.
