The varieties of products and/or services that are sold on the site are nothing short of extraordinary, says Bidorbuy MD Andy Higgins.
While the most commonly-auctioned goods on the site are jewellery, laptops, DVDs and cellphones, Bidorbuy has also featured more unusual goods for auction, such as cosmetic surgery, breast milk and banana guards, to protect bananas in transit.
The "strangest auctions" list also includes a dinner date for charity and a phone service that will break up with a girlfriend or boyfriend on the user`s behalf.
The plastic surgery was sold to local and overseas buyers, Higgins says. "There were five different procedures auctioned and the bidding started at R1 with no reserve. They were all sold."
However, there has been less interest in the banana guards, which are still up for auction.
As for the breast milk? "As far as I am aware there were no bidders," Higgins says.
