There are just five days left to enter the Innovation and Sustainability Awards.
Innovators, entrepreneurial and creative-spirited organisations, as well as individuals, are welcome to take part in the awards, which aim to "benchmark innovation and highlight success stories across all sectors of SA".
The Minister for Public Service and Administration, Geraldine Fraser-Moleketi, has actively encouraged innovators in the private and public sector to submit their innovations to the competition.
"We all have a responsibility to ensure a better future for South Africa, to improve our competitive advantage, and to develop sustainable innovations which can help to drive economic growth," she says.
The judges will consider whether original innovations were developed in SA, if they were the first locally and internationally, and whether they have an impact within the originating organisation, sector, or general public.
Previous winners include CIDA City Campus, Daimler Chrysler`s AIDS programme, and the Sunnyside unit of the SA Police for its work in prevention of abuse to women. Sponsors include MTN, Microsoft, T Systems, and Da Vinci Holdings.
Entries close on 13 June, for more information on the awards. To submit an entry, visit the Innovation and Sustainability Web site.
