Web surfers rained out

Some Internet Solutions subscribers were unable to access international Web sites this morning due to bad weather.

Frustrated subscribers said they had been told there had been "major degradation on the international connection due to bad weather" this morning.

Prenesh Padayachee, IS CTO, says there had been a brief outage this morning, but that it would have affected a "small percentage of the user base - probably only certain DSL users and only relating to certain international sites".

Padayachee notes that the satellite connection was temporarily affected due to this morning`s severe thunderstorms in the Johannesburg area.
