WebAsyst adds SMS messaging

WebAsyst has added an SMS messaging feature to its Contact Manager application of the WebAsyst suite, the company says in a press release.

The suite is a set of communication and collaboration tools. WebAsyst says the addition of SMS to its suite addresses one of the primary purposes of the suite - to bridge gaps in geographically dispersed teams, making collaboration more convenient.

SMS temperature monitoring

Processing talk reports that Mendip Micro Systems has developed low cost SMS monitoring for small "temperature critical processes" such as greenhouses, aquariums and cold stores. The system includes an external temperature probe and GSM module, and the user via SMS if the temperature exceeds preset limits.

New Nokia with Xpress audio messaging

Nokia has unveiled a compact camera phone with an Xpress audio messaging. Mobilemag reports the 6111 handset allows the user to make a quick voice recording and send it immediately to a recipient.

Audio messaging is reported to be taking off in some areas, offering the low cost of texting with the convenience of making an audio recording instead of typing an SMS.
