Webroot expands global protection with Sovaton in southern Africa

Webroot, a leader in cloud-based security solutions, today announced expansion into southern Africa with the addition of Sovaton to its global network of distributors.

Sovaton is complementing its product portfolio with Webroot SecureAnywhere security intelligence solutions to help its consumer and business customers benefit from improved malware protection, system performance and overall productivity. Webroot will also gain access to Sovaton's comprehensive network of channels, points of sale and value-added resellers.

Expansion of affordable Internet connectivity and the proliferation of mobile devices have greatly increased the number of online users, and also given rise to increased cyber attacks. As a result, consumers and businesses are ramping up cyber-security efforts and are quickly adopting Webroot's cloud-based endpoint and mobile protection. Webroot's security solutions are widely known for their superior performance and advanced real-time threat intelligence, which protects users against malware, phishing attacks and other Web threats.

Primary focus will be on Webroot SecureAnywhere Antivirus and Webroot SecureAnywhere Internet Security Plus for consumers and Webroot SecureAnywhere - Business Endpoint Protection for businesses. Unlike traditional security solutions, Webroot SecureAnywhere installs and scans in seconds, and doesn't need security updates or signature database downloads, which consume network bandwidth and leave users exposed.
