Websense announces ArcSight ESM support for Websense Enterprise, Websense Security Suite

Johannesburg, 27 May 2005

SecureData, a member of the JSE-listed ERP.com Group and a southern African distributor for Websense, today announced the latter's planned integration of Websense Enterprise and Websense Security Suite Web filtering and Web security software on ArcSight ESM solutions.

Using Websense Enterprise and Websense Security Suite with ArcSight ESM, organisations can access enterprise-wide security information, including employee Web surfing patterns, and a single, centralised console, enabling a quick response when exposed to security threats such as from a hacking intrusion or keylogging software.

Websense's Web filtering and security software helps protect organisations and employees from an increasing number of internal and external online security threats. Websense Enterprise is a best-of-breed Web filtering and Web security tool for mitigating spyware, malicious mobile code, phishing attacks, harmful instant messaging attachments, and other Web-based threats.

Furthermore, Websense software helps improve employee productivity, reduce legal liability and optimise the use of IT resources. Websense Enterprise Web filtering and security software utilises over 90 categories of Web content, in more than 50 languages, allowing organisations to set highly flexible internet usage policies for employees.

"ArcSight ESM delivers comprehensive, expert, real-time internal and external threat management and compliance reporting," commented Lars Graefe, Director of ArcSight's Enterprise Security Alliance Programme. "We are pleased to integrate with Websense software as we continue to align our ESM with best-in-class Internet security vendors. This relationship offers organisations real-time security event monitoring of employee Internet access."

"Websense's Web filtering and security software provides proactive mitigation of internet dangers by disabling attacks before they enter the organisation," added Steve Kelley, Director of Strategic Alliances for Websense, Inc. "The partnership of Websense software with ArcSight ESM elevates the awareness and visibility of a broad range of internet security threats to IT management as they occur."

Websense Enterprise is available for organisations that wish to protect themselves from Internet and application security threats.
