Websense on Fortune Small Business Magazine's list of 100 fastest growing small companies in America for second year

Johannesburg, 22 Jul 2005

SecureData, a member of the JSE-listed ERP.com Group and a southern African distributor for Websense, today announced Websense has been named to Fortune Small Business Magazine's fifth annual FSB 100 list of America's fastest growing small companies for the second consecutive year.

It ranked number 31 out of the 100 companies listed. In addition to being number 31 overall, Websense was ranked number 21 by earnings-per-share (EPS) growth, and number 16 based on revenue growth.

The list, which is comprised of public companies, appears in the July/August issue of Fortune Small Business.

According to the article, "the 17 technology companies on this year's FSB 100 (up from 13 last year and just two the year before) have sought out niches that either sidestep the giants or support them".

To compile the list, Fortune Small Business asked financial research firm Zacks to screen annual reports for public companies with annual revenue of less than $200 million and a stock price of more than $1. Within that group, companies were ranked based on the past three years' earnings growth, revenue growth and stock performance. Real estate firms and banks, which had begun to override the list in recent years, were not considered for the list this year.

Websense's 2004 revenue was $111.9 million, up 37% from 2003, and 2004 earnings per diluted share were $1.09, up 49% from 2003.

"We are extremely pleased to be among the top 17 technology companies named to the 2005 FSB 100 list," commented John Carrington, chief executive officer and chairman of Websense, Inc.

"2004 was a remarkable year for Websense, and we remain dedicated to providing award-winning Web filtering and Web security solutions, utilised by more than 20 million employees worldwide ranging in size from 100-person organisations to multinational corporations."

In addition to the Fortune Small Business award, Websense has garnered a number of prestigious accolades since the beginning of 2005 including earning a spot on the BusinessWeek "100 Best Small Companies" list, and being named to Business 2.0 Magazine's "100 Fastest Growing Technology Companies" list for the second consecutive year.

In addition, Websense was also awarded Forbes Magazine's "Top 25 Fastest Growing Technology Companies" for the second consecutive year, and the 2004 Frost & Sullivan Market Leadership Award in the global Web filtering market.
