In support of its service excellence model, Westcon AME has announced its move to new premises which are centrally located in Paulshof, Sandton. The 2400 square metre facility combines the head office, warehouse facilities, walk-in distribution centre, customer care centre and product training facilities under one roof. The premises will enable Westcon AME to provide an enhanced customer experience and to deliver improved service levels.
"Last year we embarked on a process that would see us become the premier distributor of networking, security, mobile and converged solutions," says John Hurrell, CEO of Westcon AME. "This process gained impetus in recent weeks when we appointed Graham Vorster as Chief Technology Officer.
"Today, we are announcing our move to customer-friendly premises. This will bring us another step closer to achieving our goal and to creating a business model that will support growth for Westcon and for our business partners.
Hurrell says that growth will be achieved in a number of ways. "The introduction of a dedicated training centre will enable us to boost skills within our own organisation and to support our business partners to enhance skills within their companies."
"Our walk in distribution centre is also a differentiator. Customers can now see the benefits of working with a distribution company that has access to $300 million worth of stock from around the world and that can deliver product quicker than any of our competitors, he concludes."
The new offices, which will also be home to Comstor, Westcon and Scantec head offices, represent a consolidation of Westcon`s Johannesburg operations.
The move will take place on 2 May 2005.
