White paper released on BPM
Business process management (BPM) has regained both a momentum and credibility after its earlier years of hype, reports ManufacturingTalk. Now, industry analysts and thought leaders are more specific in their statements, and this has enabled Procession to benchmark and define its approach to application development.
"These recent developments are long overdue," says David Chassels, Procession's CEO. "We have been pioneering people-driven software too long in isolation, now things are changing, which is good news.
"Our mission has been twofold: to remove complexity from application development by encapsulating all business requirements in a single platform, and to close the gap between business and IT by allowing business analysts to build new applications with no coding or traditional compiling."
BPM survey results released
There has been a debate about whether small and mid-size companies have the same performance management needs as larger companies, reports B-Eye Network. BPM Pulse survey results were sorted by company size and there were enough respondents in each category to produce statistically significant results.
While overall, 50% of respondents said they were in the midst of a BPM project, only 40% of the small companies responded that way. On the other hand, 60% of the medium to large group said they had an in-process BPM project. The largest companies were more in-line with the overall average, coming in at 52%.
This indicates the greatest BPM momentum is in the high end of the mid-market, which explains why there are now more vendors than ever targeting this segment.
