Why does your company still do payslips?

Johannesburg, 24 Apr 2006

Is your company still issuing payslips? Payslips are woefully inadequate statements that only show each employee what they are paid and little else. A traditional payslip does not show each employee their full benefit and the value they derive from being employed. Even worse, employees who are being offered employment usually only use the pure income as reflected on their payslip as a basis of comparison with the new offer.

In today`s age, an employee does not only receive a pure salary but has a number of other benefits. These include pension, provident, medical, group life, shares and study assistance to name only a few of the common benefits. Apart from the appropriate deductions, the full benefit is not fully reflected on the payslip.

What is required is to move away from a traditional payslip to an "employee value statement". An "employee value statement" not only takes information from the payroll but also from other systems such as pension, provident, share systems and other sources and combines these into a single informative document.

Now each employee can have a single "employee value statement", that shows their full worth, instead of their payslip and various other periodic statements delivered to them. This great communication vehicle helps reduce staff turnover as employees who receive these new types of statements are always totally informed of their worth and are more likely to compare their full benefits against any new offer being made.

InfoSlips, the leader in providing "employee value statements", has a product which delivers such a service to employees using an innovative document attached to an e-mail. This document is safe, secure and delivered in an interactive format. The service being offered by InfoSlips is more cost-effective than the procurement, production and distribution costs of traditional payslips.

InfoSlips recently won the emerging Technology Top 100 award for its offering. This competition, run by the DaVinci Institute, is sponsored by the Department of Science and Technology, Eskom and Business Day.
