AST Products, a division of the AST Group, has been appointed as the South African reseller for German-based Wincor Nixdorf - Banking Division.
As South African reseller, AST will provide market solutions, systems and services to the banking market, as well as for industries that use solutions involving monetary value transactions. This involves self-service cash solutions, self-service non-cash solutions, devices and financial enterprise solutions.
"Banking is changing, perhaps more rapidly than at any other time in its history. Private and corporate clients are altering their strategies. Many retail banking clients make their transactions electronically, while others insist on going into a branch," explains Henrik Stanley-Madsen, MD of AST Products.
"Competition to meet every client`s need is fierce, but cost cutting, including an increased shift towards reduced staffing levels, is squeezing bank resources and operations right and left," adds Stanley-Madsen. "In addition to existing branch networks, financial institutions need the right mix of proven and innovative delivery channels to keep the clients they have and win new ones."
