Wind River unveils new platform
Wind River Systems has released its next generation of Wind River Linux, according to DMN Newswire.
The new release will provide a standards-based Linux platform with a cross-build environment, enabling both large and small development organisations to deploy devices quickly and efficiently, reducing time-to-market.
This release of Wind River Linux will be based on the 2.6.21 Linux kernel. In addition to the advancements made in the 2.6.21 kernel, Wind River will provide users with 64-bit application support. This includes tools for both kernel and user space debugging across all supported architectures.
OVH chooses Infinera
OVH, an Internet-hosting network in France, has selected a Digital Optical Network from Infinera for the network linking its data centres in Paris and Roubaix, reports CNNMoney.
OVH hosts more than 160 000 customers, 600 000 Web sites, 600 000 domain names, with more than 24 000 servers located in its data centres.
The Infinera technology is designed to enable optical networks, such as OVH's, to deliver more flexible services and more capacity faster and more efficiently than traditional DWDM systems.
Summa Telecom selects Ceragon
Ceragon Networks, a provider of high-capacity Ethernet and TDM wireless backhaul solutions, today announced that Summa Telecom, a Russian telecom operator, will deploy Ceragon's wireless IP solutions as part of its new WiMax network in Russia, reports CNNMoney.
In a deal valued at $1.6 million, Ceragon will provide Summa Telecom with a solution for high capacity wireless backhaul, including installation and project management services.
Summa Telecom was the first carrier to be awarded a nationwide WiMax spectrum in the Russian Federation and plans to build a nationwide WiMax network that will cover 330 cities by 2010.
